My God, we thrust?

Well, the MO Legislature has decided it is necessary to have a pray where you go law. This means that it is okay for a person to pray to their god wherever they are, public or private land. It is on the ballot as an AMENDMENT TO THE STATE CONSTITUTION. I thought we already had religious freedom in this country. This amendment states explicitly:

Shall the Missouri Constitution be amended to ensure:
  • That the right of Missouri citizens to express their religious beliefs shall not be infringed;
  • That school children have the right to pray and acknowledge God voluntarily in their schools; and
  • That all public schools shall display the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution.

 REALLY?

 Is this something we need? I can only hope that the Wicken would pray at a public trial. I can only hope that Zoroastrians say mantras at a baseball game. I hope that the opening prayer for the legislature shall be in praise of Allah. What happens when we are NOT praying and folks in the 'group' notice and call us Heathen?
  If you want to have the government tell you to pray, go to Iran, Saudi Arabia or some other religion driven government. I don't care if you worship L. Ron Hubbard, just don't make ME do so or force others to do so. This law is an unnecessary act of government. It is just a veiled attempt to make us all follow the 'One true God' BS that those folks that need a crutch to justify life, and make them get absolution for their deplorable acts by hiding behind the LORD.
